Edna Mae (Heard) Macy died from Alzheimer's Nov. 1 in Benton, Ark.
Born to Charlie and Ruth (Stobaugh)
Heard, she became a Christian, attending Antioch Missionary Baptist
Church as a member for over 60 years and Landmark Missionary Baptist
Church for a short time. She also joined the Order of Eastern Star and
the Order of the Rebekahs.
Edna Mae started making quilts with
her mother at 16. She loved crocheting pillowcases, tablecloths and
afghans for her family. She traveled to all 50 states, Canada, Mexico
and Italy.
While working at Sears as a division
manager in housewares, she met husband Ronald Macy. They married Dec.
10, 1959. She also worked as a skip-tracer for Collection Service, Inc.
and St. Vincent's Hospital. After retirement, she worked for Arkansas’
Employment Security Division.
Preceded in death by husbands Tracy
Umholtz and Ronald Macy and brothers Vernon and Fay Heard, her survivors
include son Dale Umholtz and wife Marguerite of Little Rock, son Gale
Umholtz and wife Jo of Sheridan, daughter Rebecca Lynn Sitton and
husband Leroy of North Little Rock, brother Bill Heard of Mobile, Ala.,
12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, a great-great grandchild,
three nephews and seven nieces.
Graveside services begin Thursday at
10 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetary, with pallbearers L.D. Umholtz, Lawton
Umholtz, Curtis Umholtz, Chuck Sitton, David Sitton and Ronald Sitton. |
